Fry Pan Cooking
I have four large bone-in chicken thighs and I want to pan fry?
Any ideas? I have bacon grease – oil, how much fat that melt in the pan and fry and how long I can do I know that they are well cooked? PS Frying Pan is only option. No oven or grill.
Bacon grease is a good vehicle for the use of oil in this recipe: fried chicken: 4 bone-in chicken thighs Salt and pepper to taste Flour, for dredging the chicken in Season about 2 cups of flour (it will not use all) with salt and pepper (and any other seasonings you like, such as poultry seasoning, sage, marjoram or). Preheat about 1 / 4 cup (4 tablespoons) of the bacon grease over medium-high heat in a skillet large enough to accommodate the thighs, without displacing them ….. 10-12 inches works better ….. Dredge chicken thighs in flour (coat in flour) and put aside, when fat is bright (but not smoking) add the chicken pieces skin side down, and cook for 5 minutes, lower heat to medium. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, turn and cook, uncovered, for about a addidtional 15 minutes. Cut to cooking test: The juices should run clear when cut.
